About Branch Banking

Branch Banking serves as the face of Axis Bank for millions of retail customers, playing a key role in deposit mobilization from New-To-Bank (NTB) customers. Branches are at the heart of the Bank’s customer engagement strategy, offering a wide range of products and services.

Role Overview

As a Branch Relationship Officer (BRO), you will be responsible for providing financial solutions to customers by offering the bank’s products, servicing existing and new customers, and acquiring new customers through referrals and customer visits. This role requires strong communication skills, customer engagement, and cross-selling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship & Sales

  • Offer solutions and cross-sell the Bank’s retail banking and third-party products (e.g., Life Insurance, General Insurance, Mutual Funds, Loans, etc.).
  • Achieve assigned business targets consistently on a monthly basis.
  • Generate referrals and leads for new customers to promote the bank’s products.
  • Participate in marketing activities and customer visits outside the branch.

Customer Engagement & Service

  • Contact existing customers to encourage more deposits and cross-selling.
  • Handle customer queries effectively and provide accurate solutions to minimize complaints.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer transactions and requests.

Operational & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Introduce customers to alternative banking channels (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, WhatsApp Banking, etc.).
  • Follow all compliance guidelines (KYC, AML, and regulatory norms).
  • Ensure all audit requirements are met and maintain an optimum audit rating.
  • Complete mandatory certifications (EUIN, SP Certification, etc.).
  • Log all customer interactions in the Bank’s CRM system.
  • Participate in Bank’s initiatives, campaigns, and drives as required.

Key Skills Required

Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of KYC, AML, and compliance requirements.
Sales & Negotiation: Ability to sell financial products and services effectively.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in cash handling and financial documentation.
Networking & Relationship Building: Strong ability to develop customer relationships.


Qualifications & Role Proficiency

Education:

  • Graduation/Post-Graduation from a recognized institute.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of banking regulations and norms.
  • Familiarity with banking products and services.
  • Proficiency in English and local languages (verbal & written).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
