Global IT Software Engineer – Senior Specialist

Role Overview

As a Global IT Software Engineer – Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for the development and technical support of BCG’s global HR applications. Working within the HR Product Portfolio, you will collaborate with a team of developers, product owners, solution architects, and scrum masters to deliver on BCG’s roadmap.

This role requires hands-on experience with the latest web development technologies and an innovative approach to accelerating delivery for BCG’s global users.

Key Responsibilities

• Front-End Development:
  • Build and maintain complex front-end applications using Angular (v9+).
  • Optimize performance, speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Implement and customize UI frameworks like Ant Design or Material Design for consistent and aesthetic layouts.
• Integration & API Management:
  • Integrate UI components with server-side APIs and ensure seamless data display.
  • Work with RESTful APIs and real-time data communication (WebSockets).
• Testing & Debugging:
  • Develop and execute unit tests using Jasmine, Karma, Jest.
  • Perform end-to-end testing using Protractor, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Version Control & DevOps:
  • Work with Git, including branching strategies and code reviews.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient build and deployment.
• Collaboration & Problem-Solving:
  • Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and backend developers to deliver holistic solutions.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues while continuously optimizing the user experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Education

• B.Tech/MCA with 5+ years of experience in enterprise application development.

Technical Expertise

• Frontend Technologies:
  • Angular (v9+ preferred), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.
  • Experience with state management tools (NgRx or Redux).
• UI/UX & Design:
  • Ability to design and develop dynamic, responsive UIs.
  • Experience with Figma or similar UI/UX design tools.
• Testing & Debugging:
  • Proficiency in Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Protractor, Cypress, Selenium.
• Build & Deployment Tools:
  • Familiarity with Webpack, npm, Angular CLI.
• Version Control & Agile Methodologies:
  • Experience working in Scrum/Kanban environments using JIRA.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

• Micro Frontend Architecture expertise.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and advanced visualization tools for data representation.
• Strong understanding of security best practices in frontend development.
