Position Overview

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing end-user support in GBT’s global technology environment. This includes desktop support, network administration, and telephony assistance. You will play a crucial role in incident management, ensuring timely resolutions or escalating issues to the appropriate IT teams when necessary.


Key Responsibilities

End-User Support & Incident Management

  • Provide technical support to all GBT users.
  • Offer 24-hour assistance for critical requests.
  • Manage incident resolution for technology-related issues.
  • Prioritize mission-critical incidents over non-essential ones.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate IT teams.

Hardware & Software Support

  • Troubleshoot and repair:
    • PCs, Laptops, MACs, Tablets, Mobile Phones, Printers.
  • Provide hardware/software support to GBT users.
  • Offer vendor escalation when needed.

Systems & Applications Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Windows OS, Office Suites, VPN, Active Directory, Exchange.
    • Security & encryption tools like SEE, SEP.
    • Remote support tools like Bomgar.
    • ERP systems like Agresso.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Understanding of Cisco telephony systems, VOIP, BES, and networking practices.
  • Exposure to travel-related systems (Sabre, Apollo, Galileo) is a plus.

Qualifications & Skills

???? Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field.
  • A combination of 2-year technical degree + desktop support experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise desktop support with expertise in software and hardware troubleshooting.

???? Technical & Functional Expertise:

  • Strong customer service & communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to manage incidents effectively.
