Position Overview

As a Software Engineer on the Query Processing Team, you will work on cutting-edge technologies to enhance our core database system. You will own projects end-to-end and work collaboratively across teams to maximize your impact. Our engineers are business partners who actively contribute to various areas of the business, including product, marketing, and sales.

You’ll be part of a rapid production environment with multiple release cycles throughout the year and have a significant understanding of both the product and business. Additionally, you'll work with a global team across different time zones and cultures, creating innovative solutions that help drive the company forward.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work on new features using advanced technologies such as LLM and vector indexing.

• Improve the fault tolerance of SingleStore clusters and accelerate SQL query performance using techniques like SIMD and LLVM codeGen.

• Develop and improve search and costing modules for the query optimizer.

• Own and manage the full software life cycle, from development to testing, for both new and existing projects deployed to production with each release.

• Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams and gain exposure to the wider business.

Required Skills and Experience

• B.Tech. Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 2-3 years of experience in system-level C/C++ development (particularly on Linux).

• Strong understanding of C.S. fundamentals, including operating systems, concurrency, multithreading, and server architectures.

• Deep proficiency in C++ or C programming.

• Passionate about building highly reliable software.

• Firm grasp of algorithms and data structures.
