Location

Apply Digital is a hybrid-friendly organization with remote options available when needed. The preferred candidate should be based in or within a commutable area to the Delhi/NCR region of India, working in hours that overlap with Eastern Standard Time (EST).

About the Client

Your initial role will involve supporting Kraft Heinz, a global leader in consumer packaged foods and a valued client of ours for the past three years. Apply Digital is leading Kraft Heinz’s digital transformation with implementable strategies, cutting-edge technology, and data-driven innovation to enhance consumer engagement and maximize business value.

Our composable architecture, modern engineering practices, and deep expertise in AI, cloud computing, and customer data solutions have powered groundbreaking digital experiences. Our cross-functional team has delivered significant milestones, including launching the "What's Cooking" app, reworking over 120 brand websites in 20+ languages, and most recently, implementing a robust Customer Data Platform (CDP) aimed at driving media effectiveness. Our work has been recognized globally and has won various awards.

While your work will initially focus on supporting Kraft Heinz, you’ll have future opportunities to collaborate with the global team on other high-profile brands.

The Role

If so, the Senior QA Engineer role at Apply Digital might be the perfect fit for you.

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a key role in defining and implementing testing strategies to ensure our web applications, APIs, and digital platforms function seamlessly. You’ll lead manual testing efforts, collaborate with developers, product teams, and automation engineers, and help drive best practices in quality assurance.

This role requires extensive experience in manual testing, defect tracking, risk-based testing, and test strategy development within modern software development environments.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web applications, digital experiences, and APIs.
• Lead functional, regression, exploratory, and usability testing to ensure a seamless user experience across supported devices and browsers.
• Identify, report, and prioritize defects, working closely with developers to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure compatibility across desktop, mobile, and tablet environments.
• Apply risk-based testing techniques to focus efforts on high-impact areas, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and QA automation specialists to establish testing and quality assurance best practices.
• Support API testing efforts by validating REST and GraphQL endpoints using tools like Postman.
• Mentor and guide junior and intermediate QA engineers, promoting a quality-first development culture.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining test environments, ensuring stability and reliability for test execution.
• Analyze test results and provide reports on quality metrics, defect trends, and areas for improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Fluency in English (both written and verbal communication) is required.
• Experience working with remote teams across North America and Latin America, ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on manual testing and test strategy development.
• Deep understanding of QA techniques, best practices, and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience writing and executing detailed test cases for complex web applications and APIs.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Hands-on experience testing APIs (REST and GraphQL) using tools like Postman.
• Strong knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and collaborate on effective solutions.
• Experience mentoring other QA engineers and providing guidance on testing best practices.

Good to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-based test environments.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Writer or others to collaborate with QA automation specialists on automation strategies.
• Experience with performance testing tools.
• Knowledge of containerized test environments using Docker.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices, ensuring tests validate authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).
• Familiarity with headless CMS platforms like Contentful.
• Experience testing integrations with platforms like Algolia, Segment, and Talon.One.
